Pricing
Bark House® materials and products by Highland Craftsmen Inc.® are seasonal and prices may fluctuate. Please call or email for updated pricing schedules. Payment is required in full to initiate order processing for all Special Order Items. Some clients may qualify for credit accounts and must plan for a minimum of two weeks for the credit approval process. Contractor and wholesale discounts are available for those who qualify.
Poplar Bark House Shingles
Repeat customers of Highland Craftsmen know that there is a limited season for the harvesting and production of Bark House Shingles. Each year our growth has been substantial and we make every effort to anticipate production needs and manufacture accordingly. As such, the season is still limited and we encourage our customers to plan ahead as much as possible.
Our professional team is ready to work with you in project planning. There are two ways to reserve material:
- Verbal order, no money down – your order is placed on the order list but not guaranteed until we receive a deposit.
- Signed confirmation with initial deposit.
- Reserve Shingle orders must be shipped or picked up in accordance with terms.
- Reserve Shingle orders not picked up as terms state are subject to warehouse fees.
Laminates and Sheets
Clients have the freedom to purchase bark sheets that have been laminated to specified backings or purchase them un-laminated. Species include fire cherry, poplar, white birch, white pine, and yellow birch. Because you may specify your backing and dimensions, call for a customized quote.
Poplar Bark Sheets
Since only one in one-thousand trees will yield a panel we do not waste any of the panel’s capacity by cutting them all to one or two standard dimensions. If a panel will yield 10½’ x 4½’ for example, we do not cut it to 10’ x 4’ until after an order is placed. Then we will match the order with the panels we have in-stock. We are happy to cut the panels to any requested dimension. Cutting fees apply.

Things to be aware of that determine the pricing of all other Bark House Materials and Products involve issues such as dimensions including diameters and lengths, special characteristics and species desired. We select one-of-a-kind pieces to fill your specific design needs. Product pricing fluctuates due to the availability of these natural products and the season the item is requested. Please call for updated schedules.
Delivery
Our Bark House Materials and Products can be delivered anywhere in the world. Delivery prices are based on weight, distance, location and accessory items required such as lift gates. Please call with your specific needs and we will provide you with a customized estimate.
Returns
Highland Craftsmen Inc. products are made from natural materials and no warranties apply. Products that are stock items may be returned when meeting the “Conditions of Return” below. There will be a restocking charge of 25% for returned items. Shipping charges are not the responsibility of Highland Craftsmen Inc..
Conditions of Return
“Stock Items” may be returned if not damaged, cut or otherwise altered from their original appearance or character.
Materials and Products will not however be accepted for return if left in adverse weather conditions or otherwise mistreated through improper storage or handling.
Returns of Bark House Shingles:
In addition to meeting other “Conditions of Return”, shingles may be returned if the pallet bands are unbroken and the moisture content is below 12%.
Highland Craftsmen Inc. reserves the right to refuse returns.
